Family Garden

Rae designed this garden with plenty of usable space for parties, relaxation and family time, and for dogs to run free. Careful tree placement and mass planting of grasses have been utilised to create green architecture within the garden, to shape the space and detract views from boundary hedges and buildings.

The carefully detailed design created expansive new dining and relaxation spaces using stone and brick chosen to match existing paving and walls. These spaces were enhanced by a wide and reflective raised water rill and a bold bespoke designed pergola. Decking surrounded by swaying masses of grasses connects to an outdoor gym with a fire pit hideaway nearby.

Seasonal interest flows through this large yet simple rural scheme, with a succession of flowering shrubs, bulbs and perennials set against the backdrop of the seasonal colour changes of the mass planted grasses and ornamental trees.
