A serene retreat was required for this double level London garden just off the busy Bayswater Road next to Hyde Park.

A simple plant and material palette with muted colours brought a sense of calm to the space, while water and planting created a sound buffer. The key plants are numerous Japanese acers, a favourite for this client and perfect beneath the large London plane trees and against the buff stone and paint colours.
